Presentation by Laure Minassian, Training project Manager

This call for projects aims to create a particularly innovative interdisciplinary training force that responds to the problems of tomorrow. These issues have so far been apprehended in a highly separated manner. It is a question here of decompartmentalizing to answer to a given topic, a stake of society. This is starting to develop with the Man-Imal Master’s in Nantes and the One Health concept, which encourages the interdisciplinary work of biologists, veterinarians, pharmacists, doctors and food engineers to meet the new production challenges that arise. and ensure health in a context of increasingly restricited food resources.

Through this type of training, it is a question of preparing the students to face major challenges, and to bring original answer by exam, in several aspects, about a given question. This type of training aims to favor the confrontation of perspectives and points of view and to position oneself immediately in collaborative approaches at the service of society. The questions and the strong stakes they pose are very tense, one of them relates to interculturality. How to work on health, which is one of the major axes of NExT, while taking into account that de facto we live in an intercultural world? How to equip publics with a scientific and professional look at the field of health for example in its social issues ?

The purpose of the call for expression of interest is therefore to respond to the challenges of our society with a view to contributing to it, through training built on a very strong interdisciplinarity.

The ambition is to build a high level of interdisciplinarity, that is to say taking seriously the rules of each discipline. It is from this deepening that the « insufficiency » principle of each discipline is born when it comes to examining the problematized object. Everyone then realizes that each discipline is part of a perspective that, because it is limited, requires the ligthing of other perspectives around a common object. These points of vigilance will contribute to our attractiveness to the international because beyond these factual aspects related to international competition, the idea that should animate us is to create content and knowledge useful to society.
