L’Institut d’Etudes Avancées (IEA) de Nantes, fondation reconnue d’utilité publique, et l’Université de Nantes, membre de l’IEA, se sont engagés vers la signature d’une convention d’association.
Ce partenariat plus intense viendra conforter celui démarré en 2009 et régulièrement renouvelé depuis, permettant aux deux institutions de conjuguer leurs forces pour une meilleure lisibilité et une attractivité internationale accrue de notre territoire. L’Institut d’études avancées (IEA) de Nantes est reconnu parmi les 9 IEA les plus prestigieux dans le monde (avec ceux de Princeton, Stanford, Harvard, Caroline du Nord, Berlin, Amsterdam, Uppsala et Jerusalem).
Son activité lui permet d’accueillir chaque année à Nantes, pour la durée de l’année universitaire, une trentaine de chercheurs parmi les meilleurs, venant de toutes les disciplines et de toutes les régions du monde, menant des travaux de recherche particulièrement importants pour une compréhension plus fine des conditions d’une mondialisation durable.

The Nantes Institute for Advanced Study (IAS Nantes), a state-approved public benefit Foundation, and the University of Nantes, are committed to the signing of a formal association agreement. This reinforced partnership will strengthen the one launched in 2009 and regularly renewed since then, which has enabled the two institutions to combine their forces for a greater clarity and an increased international attractiveness of our territory. The IAS Nantes is one of the 9 most prestigious IAS in the world (with those of Princeton, Stanford, Harvard, North Carolina, Berlin, Amsterdam, Uppsala and Jerusalem). The Institute hosts each year in Nantes, for the duration of the academic year, about thirty Fellows selected for the quality and originality of their work. Coming from all disciplines and from all regions of the world, they conduct research with the aim to develop a deeper understanding of the conditions for a sustainable globalization.
